The City of Oranges...Cordoba

When visiting the city of Cordoba, I was shocked by how many oranges were on the trees and why school children or families were not taking them home for a snack. After picking one from the tree, I quickly learned their reasoning, these fruits were extremely bitter in taste; they are only decent when used for creating marmalades or with lots and lots of sugar in a juice.

The main sight in Cordoba was the magnificent Cathedral-Mosque - the former Mosque of the Caliphs filled with striking arches and Byzantine mosaics. I ended up wandering towards the organ for a bit, just listening to the music flow throughout the space; luckily the tour group didn't get too far ahead in the tour of the paintings and sculptures.

The beautiful weather and clear skies continued here in Cordoba, offering wonderful views of the city.
